Thousands of sewer cleaning vehicles are in a rigorous everyday service worldwide – with their environment-friendly high-pressure technology they ensure the trouble-free operation of underground sewer tunnels. The centrepiece of most of them is the URACA high-pressure pump - with its pressure the sewage pipe is cleaned from inside.

In addition, a URACA spray gun – type SP 250 is often installed on the rear side of the vehicles. In essence, these spray guns are used for two tasks: On the one hand – the sediments remaining in the canal are flushed away directly under the manhole opening and, on the other hand – the rills for the manhole cover are flushed free.

For the first requirement, a powerful, hard water jet with larger operating range is necessary. With that in mind, the spray guns, as a rule, are equipped with very large nozzles which permit a high water flow rate and thus a considerably wide spray coverage by the jet.

However, for the second application the powerful jet delivers too much water. The user is inevitably splashed with water bouncing back from the manhole cover rills.

In order to satisfy both requirements, a local nozzle replacement would be necessary, so that the water pressure and the water flow rate could be adapted optimally to the respective cleaning task. This, however, is frequently not practical in the daily work. URACA has now a suitable solution for this problem: The new SP 250-Vario! It permits to the user to adjust the water flow rate in a very simple manner by means of a control lever: Depending on how far the lever has been pulled through, the water amount can be adjusted between 0 and 100%. In this way, the correct flow rate of the water jet is always available for each cleaning task. And that at pressures of up to 250 bar.

In addition and quite unexpectedly, this provides a considerable improvement of the handling because now the blowback build-up is taking place softly and not abruptly anymore. With its weight of only 1.5 kg, the SP 250-Vario is felt very light in the hand and guarantees effortless work.

If the water jet is cut back by the control lever, which has not been completely pulled though, the excess water provided by the pump must be released elsewhere. This already is being taken care of in a reliable manner in the sewer cleaning vehicle with an optional pressure-control valve.

The URACA products are the heroes of our everyday life: Thanks to their special valve cone geometry, the SP 250-Vario has an excellent service life. Its valve closes reliably and tightly after many 10,000 switchings. Even recycling water with particles can be processed.

However, a practice-oriented spray gun is distinguished also by its well designed accessories and a comprehensive options program. In this regard, the SP 250-Vario has a lot to offer; much of that uniquely in the 250 bar class:

  • Multiple nozzle carriers
  • Rotation nozzles
  • Spray pipes in various lengths or adaptable extension pipes
  • Shoulder support
  • Electrical remote control
  • Aluminium handgrip for the "extremely difficult missions"
  • Revolving joint for easier handling in narrow spaces
  • Quick coupling device on the hose connection

All options of SP 250 can be combined with each other and can be easily mounted at any time – even at a later stage.
